Over the last few months, we have been busy expanding the Cozio database with instruments by many modern Italian makers. Before adding even more makers, I thought it might be a good idea to ask Cozio members which makers they would like to see on the site. Name your maker. There are no restrictions, so feel free to name any violin maker that interests you, even contemporary makers. Of course, we won't be able to add instruments by every maker immediately, but over time we plan to make the site increasingly inclusive.

I would be really happy to have more data about instruments that are not italian. There are a lot of antique makers of Ireland, Spain, Great Britain, of course also France and Germany, but also of Northern and Eastern Europe and the U.S. (etc!) that worked and left examples that are sometimes really difficult to classify and where it would be a real advantage to have some photos of those instruments including their characteristics. For me it would make much more sense to see some violin of those styles than a lot of contemporary Italian ones..
Thank you, Phil, for all the time and work you already put in the database and for the big library that is very useful! (Although sometimes the Copyright-Restrictions for reading some important information make it a bit difficult to get some points mentioned in newspapers, books).
Best wishes,
pharus

Hi pharus,
I want to keep the focus on instruments that are of interest to professional musicians. Can you think of any specific non-Italian makers that should be included?
Thanks.

| Hi, I think you are doing a great job. Have you though to add some italo-argentinian makers? Thanks.

I'm still working on the modern Italians -- Ornati, Contino, etc. After that, I'll add a few that have been suggested, probably Geissenhof and maybe a couple French makers like Pierray and Boquay. How about contemporary makers? Is there any interest in seeing instruments by modern makers?
