you can look them up in the cozio library.
without copyright restrictions you can see for ex. here:

http://www.cozio.com/DDFiles/DocumentDisplay.aspx?info=59354BA8-781C-4E89-917F-4EDD577DE6A4&q=1#search=%22Joseph%20Nadotti%22

best,
pharus

PS: but remember, a label can be copied (also from that book!). to identify a violin look at his characteristics

first of all i have to say that your violin is in a quite poor condition. it would be nice if you could set on a bridge and clean it. the tailpiece seems to be like extracted out of a bomb, that heavy and old it seems *lol*

anyway, i kind of like your violin, especially the back. your scroll has been repaired in the middle, and the luthier that did that (if it was a luthier) was not highly motivated in doing the best he could to hide that.

i doubt if your violin was made by nardotti, but i am unfamiliar to the maker and his styles, you can compare the few certified instruments in the database to get your own opinion about it.

if i would be you i would give your poor violin a cleaning and a new setup of a bridge, a tailpiece and maybe also pegs and strings and play it. maybe it sounds nice and you will a spend good hours of music with it. and, after all, this counts also for a musical instrument.

best,
pharus
