Hey everyone,

I thought it might be extremely useful for violinists/violists/cellists and double bass players that cannot afford antique high end instruments but would like to play some of them, to collect data about possible foundations that could loan such an instrument for a certain amount of time (competition, important concert or long-time-loan).

I would like to use this thread to post interesting websites of foundations so that
1) musicians have access to that information
and
2) that also wealthy people that would like to donate to such an institution/foundation dont have many problems in finding appropriate informations that will hopefully increase the amount of money that will hopefully also increase the number of loaned and therefore played instruments.

If you know any websites, adresses, contact and loan information please post them here!

Great topic Pharus.

I'm based in Australia and was very pleased to hear that the "National Instrument Bank" was set up in 2008. At this stage it is the only thing of its type I know of for violin family instruments in this country.
