| This week's quiz comes courtesy of pharus. Send your answers to info@cozio.com. The first five to submit the correct answers will receive a free 1-month cozio.com subscription (or an extension to your existing subscription). And remember, you can also earn a 1-month subscription by contributing the next quiz. Most instruments with names are named after a famous owner, but the subject of this week's quiz is an instrument named after one of its notable characteristics. It was owned by at least three famous violinists but its current whereabouts are unknown. Which instrument is this?

| Thew answer to this quiz is the 'Colossus' Strad of 1716, named after either it's unusual size or its large sound. It was previously owned by Viotti, Baillot and Thibaud, among others. Most recently it belonged to Luigi Alberto Bianchi, but it was stolen in 1998 and has not been seen since. Congratulations to sheardjojo, 562randy, wth, xh and mlv for being the first five to submit the correct answer, and thanks once again to pharus for submitting the quiz. I'm off for vacation for the next couple weeks so we'll take a short break with the quizzes. I'll post the next one in early August.
