Just wondering about this violin. My grandma gave it to me before passing, my mom says she does not have a clue where it came from. So I am curious. It is Orange red brown tint , with stripes on it , it looks to be two pieces on the back , Behind the pegs it says conservatory violin Guarnerius (this is burned into the violin i think, or carved) the label is on light brown paper , maybe used to be white, idk. and says Joseph Guarnerius fecit Cremonae( a and e one letter)anno 1736 IHS with a + sign or a cross.I just had it fixed because the arm came off , and re stringed . The bow has no name or any symbols i can see , the case is old skin cover or leather or something textured and says This is a genuine G.S.B. case . and has a stamp on the bottom of the case of the same symbol in the rasin holder. the case is just plain old .very very worn down.a robe is the handle.and three push button clips close it ... Also the f holes have little knotchs in the middle of them both sides... I cant see anything else worth looking into on the violin,, Just wanting some info. (as I see are so many others ).. I am assuming it is not really a label of authenticity , but worth asking right?
Thank You Denise
