Did Feuermann really play this cello by Matteo Gofriller?

The source for this information is a feature article about the instrument in the July, 1935 issue of The Strad. The relevant sentence is:

"It has been in the possession of a private collector in Germany since 1890 who has frequently loaned it to famous German artists, including Feuermann, for use at their concerts."

Sounds like he may have played it once or twice, but not regularly.

Dear Phil,

Could you find out who is the current owner of this cello?

Thanks
