I got this violin from a good friend in Canada, who got it from a friend, who had it in the family. Everything is handmade, including the box and has ivory where the strings begin their travel down the neck....

I found an old Vuillaume rosen box in the case. There is also a cut in the fabric lining and newspaper clippings, most of which are about missionaries from New Brunswick around the 1920s are stuffed in there.

The case looks like a small child's coffin to be honest and has lots of inlaid designs.

It really sounds sweet when played and I am enjoying learning how to play the violin on it.

I just want to know more about this. I have some pics of it.

Thanks.

Sounds very interesting, if you could post some phots we could give you some info on it. I'd love to see the inlaid case as well.
